About Job FilerI initially built the tools on Job Filer for my own use when I was looking for a job in the software / biotech industry. With the job market being tougher than ever before, I found that not only was I sending more resumes to more varied positions, it was difficult to keep track of all the job contacts I was making. Also, I found it frustrating that I would bookmark a job that I applied to, only to return to it later to find that it had been removed from the web site. My job inquiry database began as a way to store and track all of the information for the jobs I apply to in one convenient location. It allows me to better manage my job search, track my progress, follow up on open leads, and even provide proof of job search inquiries to meet state unemployment eligibility requirements. Other functions including the contact list, action item list, etc., were modules that I built in order to help organize and manage my job search efforts. While there are several good job sites out on the internet, I found that no job site offered the job search tools that I needed to track the jobs I was applying to, regardless of the source and none allowed me to manage my job search in one place from any location. With Job Filer's job inquiry database, you can store as much (or as little) information as you want about the jobs you apply to, including a full copy of the job description text, contact information, job source, salary, benefits, interview comments and follow up notes. When you get a callback on a resume you submit, you can access the job information easily, and update that job record to reflect additional information, even interview notes and offers. |
